‘Family’ set the tone for this Hutt Valley renovation and with Mona at the helm, this family of five’s dream was brought to life. Nestled amongst the bush, these clients wanted their current mish-mash of design converted to a home suited for modern living, yet retaining the feel of the 1920s original.
The ‘bungavilla’ (a cross between a bungalow and a villa) was redesigned with a steel framed extension providing the supports for a glazed face, bespoke double-glazed picture windows, French doors and a round window with angled windows on either side, maximising the sun. Throughout the home are Quinn’s hallmark wide architraves, skirting boards and window frames, reminiscent of the era of the original. |
"What we have ended up with is what we wanted, the integrity that is throughout the whole house is the result of the architect" |
